Whenever we visit Santa Barbara I need to visit the East Beach Grill. They have the best wheat germ blueberry pancakes I have ever had, and they’re not something I’ve found in Massachusetts.
Jase, Pamela, Dana and I sat outside and enjoyed the sun and sea while we ate breakfast. After, Jase and I went to the farmers market in Goleta — Santa Barbara’s Saturday farmers market has it beat by miles. We picked up some dates, Cajun almonds, sugar snap peas and some of the biggest strawberries we have ever seen. They’re perfect for the road trip we are taking on this morning.
After, we took a stroll on State Street and I finally found a real benefit from using Foursquare! We got 15% off of the shirts we purchased for dinner at AE and Aerie.
One of the things I love most about vacation is napping. I’m able to curl up for 30 minutes and just drift off. At home, even on weekends, there is so much to do that my guilt forces me to wake up abruptly and destroys the serenity that comes with a perfect nap.
Jase and I took a walk through the dog park behind Pamela’s house as the sun was setting. It was so, so beautiful. You can see the hills and the ocean, the landscape is stunning, and there is a memorial path. There will be photos of that later.
We went to Montecito for dinner at the Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch. This will have a blog post of its own because the photos I would have taken could not have done this gorgeous, fairy tale destination any sort of justice.
More later, friends. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoy the work week ahead!
