It has been a wonderful weekend.

Friday night I ended up staying in and working a little bit late on a blog post for InkHouse. Jay went to hang out with his friends in Boston, which he rarely gets to do, so I had my own little productive evening. I brought home some sushi and a really really mediocre, $10 bottle of petite sirah, watched a few episodes of Happily Divorced and started pulling things together for my book. I ended up writing seven pages and compiling some of my blog posts.

Saturday I went to Worcester to hang out with my best friend, Marissa. We went to lunch at Mezcal and had the most fantastic guacamole — it had goat cheese and bacon in it. Really, as if guacamole wasn’t amazing on its own. Anyway, wealso enjoyed a couple of margaritas, which resulted in a couple of pots of tea back at her place.

That night, Jay and I went off to the Natick Mall and found ourselves in Crate and Barrel. We love going into stores like that, but up until recently, never really had a space to plan for. But soon we will and this visit was made all the more exciting because of that fact. We looked at a few sectional couches to fill out the great room and even agreed on a bed and the type of wood we want in the house. We’ve been lucky so far and agree on nearly everything. In the photo above (which is sideways for some reason) you can see a couple of pieces we are thinking about putting in a space as you walk in the front door (or less expensive pieces that are very similar). Please excuse my face and the random lady that thought it was cool to hover around us while we planned.

We had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and then retired with some Big Bang Theory.

Of course, today is Easter, so we dragged my fatigued self up to my parents’ house to spend time with our family. They all played a guesstimation game and we ate so much delicious food. My aunt put together this really thoughtful “things you’ll need but won’t think of” basket for when we move into our house. It was just so incredibly thoughtful.

I had fun helping my sister Lylah with the Easter egg hunt this year. We’re both currently on the disabled list, so it was a great way for us to make the most of our situations.

I have a busy week ahead. Still wrapping things up for Q1 at work, opening day at Fenway Park with my Dad on Friday and…

We are finally closing and moving into our house on Thursday!

More on that later.
