First day in California. Husband is at NAMM learning how to schmooze with other audio nerds and hanging out with his friends.
I woke up at 8am and enjoyed my coffee in the backyard. I also ate four oranges off of the tree. They’re never better than when eaten directly off of the tree — so sweet and Juicy.
Enjoyed a home-made breakfast of eggs, bacon pieces, broccoli, mushrooms and cheese, with a piece of whole grain toast — courtesy of Mark (SFIL).
I spent the day with my MIL, Pamela, SIL, Dana, and Dana’s friend. We stopped to see the butterflies at the Coronado Butterfly Preserve and visited several wineries.
One of the wineries was run by a cool, free spirited couple with two small slinky dogs. I loved the little puppies so much — really made me miss my little Niles. They had all kinds of interesting art, and it smelled gorgeous there. Someone had recently had a fire, it seemed.
We did a little browsing in an artists gallery, where I found a photo album with a dragonfly on it. The cover reads, “don’t dream your life, live your dreams,” in Spanish.
We had dinner at Trattoria Grapolo with Mark and my BIL, Andrew. We had the best calamari I have ever eaten. The food was truly wonderful and the creme brûlée was delicious.
Of course, I am a thousand years old and I’m already tucked away in the camper. I’m sleepy and I miss my husband, but I’m looking forward to tomorrow — pedicure and yoga with Pamela!
Goodnight, everyone. I hope you’re well.
