Superstition Sunday: Gotta get down on Friday
With Monday on the horizon, and with several of you surely not looking forward to it, here is a superstition about “certain” days of the week — particularly about the day that is seemingly everybody’s favorite:

According to Francis Grose, there are days during a week or month in which people find themselves to either be very fortunate or rather unlucky. Of course, the days are different from person to person, and Grose, for this particular superstition, continues to be relatively vague.
Some days are commonly deemed unlucky: among others, Friday labours under that opprobrium; and it is pretty generally held, that no new work or enterprize should be commenced on that day. Likewise respecting the weather, there is this proverb:
Friday’s moon,
Come when it will, it comes too soon.
Perhaps, then, we should instead have a case of the Fridays?
I know, I know — fat chance. I know we have passed Friday the 13th, but the Farmers’ Almanac has some interesting details on unlucky Friday. Enjoy!
