Sometimes it’s nice to share small, personal/professional achievements

I wanted to get something up here quick — my fingers are too achy to write an actual post (which will be a post for tomorrow or Sunday, whenever I feel better).

Earlier this month I posted my first Inklings blog post. Well, yesterday I got a tweet from ProfNet Connect’s editor saying that my post was in the top 10 on the site for the month of October.

I’m so excited about this. It’s a great opportunity for my company’s blog to get more traffic, and it feels good to have people both enjoy and learn a thing or two from something I wrote.

It’s not often that I can write about my job because it is so client based, and I don’t like to brag. But I thought this was something positive that I did for work that I could share with you.

My autoimmune disorder has been dragging me down pretty hard this month and I’ve been in bed for the last two days. I’ve done a lot of thinking about my illness and other aspects of my life, which I will get into greater detail about once I am feeling better.

FYI: I have disabled anonymous asks. There are some really angry, misguided people out there. I typically let their negative comments roll off my shoulders, but enough is enough. If you really believe that I only define my existence by the fact that my husband is in a band, you clearly haven’t been reading and, by the way, you are not required to read my blog. I’d actually prefer that you didn’t.

Additionally, if you’re the kind of person who chooses to leave an ask in anyone’s box saying that you hope their significant other and friends die in an accident, and that you will intentionally steal from them in the future, please don’t read and please seek professional help. And learn the difference between “their,” “there,” and “they’re.”

I think it’s really sad that there are people out there who have nothing better to do than attack me, Alyssa, and several of my other friends in an anonymous and vicious way. You’re not hurting me, but I can see that you’re clearly hurting. I truly feel sorry for you and I hope you find someone to talk to. Going through life attacking people you don’t know is a terrible way to live. I urge you to remember that you attract what you put into the universe.

P.S. I used the (client) Dragon Dictation app on my iPhone to write this post. Pretty neat tool for someone with chronic joint pain!
