My Life as a Band Wife

It has been nearly two weeks since Jay and I got married. By the power vested in my best friend Marissa by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we have legally been launched on the journey that will keep us together until death do us part.

And I can honestly say that I have never been happier.

So, it is official. After months of joking around, using the hashtag, “My Life as a Band Wife,” the joke is over and my band wifedom has become a reality. And here I am to blog all about it.

Let’s talk a little bit about the intent of this blog before I get a rash of anons harassing me for not having an identity of my own. On the contrary, MLBW is merely a theme (who doesn’t love a good theme?) that will lead you to see that I — and many like me — have an entire life all my own, complete with a fulfilling career, hobbies, friends and family.

After all, isn’t Jay really just Defeater’s tall merch guy?

I hope that this space will create a community for everyone wearing the tour life shoes. I have big plans to post recipes I love, activities I take on to keep myself occupied, relevant topics I find interesting, guest posts and many, many pictures of our dog, Niles (sorry, I’m not sorry).

We may be married to — or dating — a person on the road, but we are more than just their partner. We have exciting lives and interests of our own. Let’s celebrate that as much as we celebrate the success of our significant others.
