This is a food week -- Hungry Mother, General...
I hope that all of you are having as lovely of a Thanksgiving break as I am. I had a fantastic first married Thanksgiving with my husband and family (post on this, sort of, later). I have eaten several delicious meals, some of which I cooked, so I thought I would share these meals with you.
Remember how I told you that some how my wedding cake got dropped? Well, Willowdale not only reimbursed us...

Reflecting and giving thanks
Last year for Thanksgiving, Jay and I were in Washington spending the holiday with his family. It was the first time I met his grandparents, great grandparents, uncle, cousin, and aunt. I felt at home and, while I missed my family, I had a really lovely time. The dinner was amazing, the company even better, and I was even included in the family game.
The next day, we went to Seattle, shopped,...

The Seamstress -- For Sophie
That day, I even made the seamstress cry.
She said she’d never seen a sadder bride.
The pins fell out as I slumped
Deep down into the dressing room chair,
Barely able to breathe, or see,
As I realized there is no one there
To help me up from that chair.
Or out of my dress.
Just the sympathetic seamstress.
She said she’d never seen a lonelier bride
As she wiped the tears...
krissynh asked: Hahahahaha oh my goddddddddddd YOUR NEW ROOMMATE. I feel your pain - literally - I used to have a roommate just like that.

Bane/Defeater, getting my husband back, and...
I finally have my husband back. For a little while at least! He leaves next week to go to Europe, but for now, we’ll just enjoy eachothers company.
Notes from my weekend “out with the band:”
The Worcester show was amazing, even if the staff at the Palladium is insane. They tried to keep Alyssa from joining me on the side of the stage and told Seth that he wasn’t allowed...

You want to f$%&*@g censor me?
I’m sure by now you have all heard about American Censorship Day, which was yesterday. If not, then you had to have noticed all of the black bars posted all over Tumblr logos — mine, yours, and everyone else’s.
You can learn all about it by watching the following video:

Today I told myself, "I'm going to have a good...
I am never saying that to myself again. Especially when it is very clear, from the minute my alarm goes off, that it is not going to be a good day.
For starters, I barely got any sleep last night. There is absolutely no good reason for it, it was just a tumultuous night. At work today, we found out that one of our clients is leaving us. They got orders from the CEO to cut contracts with all...

Six more days of tour to go
It has been quite a week. My dad’s birthday was on Wednesday and Defeater premiered their video for Empty Glass on NPR, which from a PR standpoint was quite a thrill.
NPR is almost always one of the top targets for our clients at InkHouse. I was really impressed that something stemming from what my husband created was being featured there. I am grateful that the band’s management and...
Defeater video for Empty Glass live on NPR
getawayrecording:
At this point it is no secret that we (Defeater) worked with Rob Soucy to make a music video for “Empty Glass.” You can watch the video now on NPR.
We think it’s a great way for us to kick off our tour with Every Time I Die in December and to close out 2011. We have a lot of great stuff coming your way in 2012. We’re really excited to share it with all of you and we hope...

Getaway Recording: Tour update -- for Cody... →
getawayrecording:
East coast! It’s good to be back in my rightful time zone. We have been dodging winter like it’s our job (and in a weird way, it sort of is). But now we head north, closer to home by the day, closer to Thanksgiving with my family, and this year I have more than ever to be thankful for.
I saw this…

Sjoggie life -- let's get real for a minute here
Good evening everyone!
As I mentioned in one of my last posts, I’ve been really sick. Remember back when I wrote that post about my “perfect” life? Well, the Sjogren’s has struck again. The truth is, I haven’t been feeling “well” for the last month. I use the term well loosely, because I don’t usually feel great. But I have definitely felt better.

Sometimes it's nice to share small,...
I wanted to get something up here quick — my fingers are too achy to write an actual post (which will be a post for tomorrow or Sunday, whenever I feel better).
Earlier this month I posted my first Inklings blog post. Well, yesterday I got a tweet from ProfNet Connect’s editor saying that my post was in the top 10 on the site for the month of October.
I’m so excited about this....
